Refund, Cancellation, and Returns Policy

At Jeslor Oy, we provide professional legal and consulting services. In addition, we may sell handmade / community-oriented local products through Jeslor Footprints to support communities in West Africa. This policy governs how we handle service cancellations and the return of physical goods.

1. Professional Services (Law & Consulting)

Our legal and consulting services are personalized professional engagements. Due to the time-intensive nature of this work, refunds do not apply to professional fees once a service has been booked or performed.

A. Consultations (Online & In-Person)

• No Refund Policy: Consultation fees cover the professional time reserved for you. All payments for booked sessions are final and non-refundable.

• No-Shows: If you do not attend your scheduled consultation (whether via online link or in-person at the agreed office address) without providing prior notice, the full fee is forfeited. We do not offer refunds or credits for missed appointments.

• Rescheduling: We require at least 24 hours' notice for any rescheduling. If you notify us within less than 24 hours, it will be treated as a no-show.

B. Project Work, Cases & Retainers

Once a legal file, case, or consulting project has commenced, any deposits or progress payments are non-refundable.

• Work Performed: If a contract is terminated or a case is discontinued by the client, the client remains responsible for all fees and costs incurred for work performed up to the date of termination or discontinuation.

• Legal Aid Cases (Oikeusapu): For clients receiving state-funded legal aid, the following terms apply:

  • Full Coverage: If the state covers 100% of the legal fees, the client is generally not personally liable for the legal fees, subject to the state's approval of the final bill.

  • Partial Coverage / Deductibles: If the legal aid decision includes a deductible (e.g., 20%, 50%, etc.), the client is personally responsible for paying that specific portion of the fee directly to Jeslor Oy.

  • Non-Covered Costs: The client is responsible for any fees or expenses that fall outside the scope of the legal aid decision.

  • Discontinuation of Legal Aid Cases: If a legal aid case is discontinued at the client’s request before completion, the client may still be responsible for the deductible portion of the work performed up to that date, as determined by the final fee statement.

2. Jeslor Footprints (Physical Goods)

Through Jeslor Footprints, we may sell handmade / community-oriented local products to support communities in West Africa, in line with the mission and vision of the Jeslor Footprints pillar. For these physical goods, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal in accordance with the Finnish Consumer Protection Act.

A. Returns and Cancellations

• Deadline: You have 14 days from the date you receive your goods to notify us of a return.

• Condition: Items must be returned in their original packaging and unused condition.

• Exclusions: We cannot accept returns for:

  • Goods made to your specific measurements or clearly personalized.

  • Items that are sealed for hygiene reasons (e.g., jewelry) once the seal is broken.

  • Items that are, by their nature, inseparably mixed with other items after delivery.

B. Returning Goods

You are responsible for the cost and risk of returning the goods to us. We recommend using an insured and trackable mail service. We will reimburse you within 14 days of receiving the returned goods. The refund will be sent via the same payment method used for the purchase.

3. Gifts

If the goods were marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you will receive a gift credit for the value of your return. If the item was not marked as a gift, the refund will be sent to the original purchaser.
